Stampin' Up Catalog 2016-17 -- Preview

The new 2016-2017 Stampin' Up!® catalog is wonderful.  I received mine in the mail last week.  There are lots of new products, paper, stamps, and accessories.  I have been playing and here are few cards using some of the new stamps and paper.

I love the new colors and papers.  I used the new paper pack, Playful Palette, that includes forty-eight sheets of 6" by 6" double-sided paper in the new In Colors for 2016-2018.  I love the new colors, Dapper Denim, Emerald Envy, Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach, and Sweet Sugarplum.

My workshop in June will feature some of the new products in the 2016-2017 Stampin' Up! catalog and will be on Sunday, June 12, 2016, hosted by Alyece Garrett.  If you are interested in coming, email me. I will also be sending out an email invitation with the details.

Don't forget there are only a few more days to order out of the Stampin' Up 2015-16 catalog and the Occasion 2016 catalog.  You can order online or email me and I can place an order for you.

Items from the new catalog can be ordered June 1.

Just a few more

Just working on cards. I really like this set.

It is hard to tell from this picture, but I used a technique called Water Color Embossing on the wheat and jug.

Instructions for Water Color Embossing:
Watercolor your image with markers and an aqua pen then let the image dry throughly. Color the image with a versamark pen in the places you want to emboss. Sprinkle with clear embossing powder and heat. As soon as the heating is complete, paint the melted emboss powder with Smooch Spritz or a powder pearl medium.   I spraying the spritz on one of our acrylic blocks used it as a pallet . Then finish by spritzing the wheat stalks with the same Smooch Spritz Golden Glow and use a soft suede marker with the Color Spritzer Tool to make the brown spots.

Stamp Set: "Always Thankful"
Colors: More Mustard, Soft Suede, Old Olive, Marina Mist paper, Chocolate Chip paper, Naturals White paper
Other: Smooch Spritz, Fabric, Buttons

New Card with Old Products

Every once and awhile, I break out the old retired stuff just to use it up so I can make room for new paper and embellishments.  I made this card using To the Nines Specialty paper and the brown felt ribbon from the Holiday Mini several years ago.  The base was Close to Cocoa textured paper.  I had quite a bit of these old papers left, so I created this card for the children in our church's Summer Presbie Kids program to duplicate for their dads for Father's Day.

There was very little stamping, mostly punching and gluing, so not too difficult for little ones.

Just another card from my last workshop.  I love this set and this dancing bear.  The stamp sets are Under the Big Top and Pennant Parade.  The colors are real red, so saffron, basic black, and tempting turquoise.  The embossing folders are the Textured Impressions Designer Frames and Stripes.  The designer paper is Big Top Birthday.  These are all a part of the Big Top Product Suite and can be found in the new 2011-12 Stampin' Up catalog.

Lace Ribbon Border

The word grace came from an old retired set that I have had forever.  I think the name was Graceful Words, but I could be wrong.  The new lace ribbon border punch is really fun to use. The colors on this card are real red, black, and whisper white.

I made thirty of these cards for our youth at church who are at camp this week.
