The Recipe I Promised
Debbie Taylor was gracious enough to share her grandmother's recipe for the cake she served at her workshop on Sunday. I promised I would share it if I got it, so here it is. I hope you will try it and enjoy.
A Recipe by Esther Pace, Debbie Taylor's Grandmother
1 1/2 sticks oleo (I used butter & margarine)
2 cups sugar
6 eggs
12 oz. vanilla wafers, crushed
1/2 to 3/4 cup milk ( I used almost 3/4 c.)
1 can angel flake coconut
1/2 c. pecans ( I used about 3/4 c.)
Cream sugar & oleo together. Add eggs one at a time. Beat well. Add remaining ingredients. Bake at 300 for 1 1/2 hrs.

Thank you Debbie
We had a great workshop today at Debbie Taylor's beautiful home. She is such a gracious hostess and a wonderful cook. The coconut cake was to die for. Thank you Debbie. I will post the cards we made as soon as I can steal my husband's camera away from him to take them. We had such a great time.
My next workshop will be at Alyece Garrett's home on Sunday, October 23 at 1:30 p.m. Hosting workshops is a great way to earn free products. If you are interested in hosting a workshop or are interested in learning more about Stampin' Up, please contact me. I love Stampin' Up and I know you will too.

Just a few more
Just working on cards. I really like this set.
It is hard to tell from this picture, but I used a technique called Water Color Embossing on the wheat and jug.
Instructions for Water Color Embossing:
Watercolor your image with markers and an aqua pen then let the image dry throughly. Color the image with a versamark pen in the places you want to emboss. Sprinkle with clear embossing powder and heat. As soon as the heating is complete, paint the melted emboss powder with Smooch Spritz or a powder pearl medium. I spraying the spritz on one of our acrylic blocks used it as a pallet . Then finish by spritzing the wheat stalks with the same Smooch Spritz Golden Glow and use a soft suede marker with the Color Spritzer Tool to make the brown spots.
Stamp Set: "Always Thankful"
Colors: More Mustard, Soft Suede, Old Olive, Marina Mist paper, Chocolate Chip paper, Naturals White paper
Other: Smooch Spritz, Fabric, Buttons
