Paper Pumpkin, August 2017

Just got my Paper Pumpkin kit last Friday.  Here is what I made with the kit and some extra items from the 2017-2018 catalog.

One Sheet Wonder

I have been playing with designer paper and wanted to make some quick cards using the One Sheet Wonder concept. Here are a few of the cards that I made using some sheets in the Pick a Pattern Series.  Here is the sketch and measurements.

Eastern Beauty

I love this set and the die that goes with it.  There are so many options and they can be done so simply.

The cardstock is Tranquil Tide and Gold Foil.
Embellishments are  Pearls and Gold Metallic Edge ribbon.
The images were stamped with Versamark and embossed with Gold Embossing Powder.

August Workshop

These were the cards that we made last Sunday at our August workshop.  Several were made using the new die set in the Carols of Christmas bundle.

Carols for Christmas Bundle

The Carols for Christmas bundle is a sneak peek set that will be in the Holiday catalog.  If you are one of my customers, you should be receiving your catalog soon.  I love the set, especially some of the dies.  I used the dies and the new embossing paste on several of the cards and use the dies to make a stencil.

About the stencil, I tried several different methods and some worked better than others.  The window sheets were too thick, regular cards stock and vellum fell apart.  I used the thin plastic film that is on top of the photopolymer stamps set and it was too flimsy.  I tried making one stencil to cover my paper completely and it was too hard to manipulate with the various materials.   I finally used the glossy paper and just cut one stencil for each of the trees.  I moved those stencils around the paper and iced it with the embossing paste.  It was the easiest method and produced the best result.  Below is the die set.

Prep Cards for August

It takes me awhile to decide exactly what I want to do at a workshop, so I usually end up with cards I make that don't make it to the workshop.  These were the the cards I made that did not make to the workshop in August.

Playing with Retired Stuff

So many times, I just don't have time to make cards with the lovely paper and products that are only available for a short time.  This is one of them.  I loved this coloring paper and used the flower paper in the pack.  I wanted to do something with this jungle print, but just could not get it right.  I tried sponging, water coloring, colored pencils, but nothing was quite right.  I finally settled on a combination of sponging and using markers directly on the paper.  I also cut out parts of the print and layered them on the the paper to give it some lift.  It  is hard to see in the picture.  Enjoy.

Just a Few More for July

I really like to use up all the components of the Paper Pumpkin kit.  It is a challenge.  I have used everything except a little bit of the pink washi tape.  I used all the blue.  I also used some of my stash of water color backgrounds that I had from previous projects.

Just a note.  I used the inside of the small envelope for the green background paper.  I will use large envelopes for mailing.
