The Recipe I Promised

Debbie Taylor was gracious enough to share her grandmother's recipe for the cake she served at her workshop on Sunday.  I promised I would share it if I got it, so here it is.  I hope you will try it and enjoy.

A Recipe by Esther Pace, Debbie Taylor's Grandmother

Vanilla Wafer Cake

1 1/2 sticks oleo (I used butter & margarine)
2 cups sugar
6 eggs
12 oz. vanilla wafers, crushed
1/2 to 3/4 cup milk ( I used almost 3/4 c.)
1 can angel flake coconut
1/2 c. pecans ( I used about 3/4 c.)
Cream sugar & oleo together.  Add eggs one at a time.  Beat well.  Add remaining ingredients.  Bake at 300 for 1 1/2 hrs.

  1. Sounds yummy! Does it need a frosting?

  2. She made it in a bundt pan and sprinkled with powdered sugar. It was very moist. I absolutely loved it.
